"Life With Father" (1947), shot in Technicolor, is a comedy inspired by the autobiography of The New Yorker essayist Clarence Day.It tells the true story of Day and his family in the 1880s. His father, Clarence Sr., wants to be master of his house, but finds his wife, Vinnie, and his children ignoring him until they start making demands for him to change his life.
"Father's Little Dividend" (1951) was a sequel to "Father of the Bride", which also starred Elizabeth Taylor and Spencer Tracy. In this movie Taylor is expecting a baby and Tracy is not exactly overjoyed at the thought of becoming a grandfather.
"The Last Time I saw Paris" (1954) is a sumptuous drama set in post-World War II Paris. In a world of divorce, domestic quarrels, jaded lives, ruined marriages and disillusioned folk, Taylor plays the one and true love of the character played by Van Johnson.
