Early Cadbury Chocolate Bar Penny Vending Machine

A rare old coin operated Cadbury chocolate bar vending machine. This great looking old machine is in original working condition. Insert one penny into the left side and it releases the wee slide drawer at the bottom to retrieve your chocolate bar. If you're extra hungry, insert two pennies into the right hand side to retrieve a larger sized bar. After dispensing a bar the pennies end up in the cavity at the very bottom of the machine. When the compartments inside are empty of chocolate it automatically chutes the penny into the "Rejected Coins" slot at the top. While the machine works fine most of the time it does sometimes need a bump on the side the get the coin seated properly (using good undamaged pennies seems to help), it has a very simple and clever mechanism. It has no key for the front panel but it just pops off with a screwdriver and fits back on securely.

This machine came from Dunedin, I don't know any more of it's history other than that. A super piece and a rare opportunity for Chocolate lovers, fans of the iconic Cadbury brand, vending machine or advertising collectors.
