A wonderful pair of Antique chairs, with loads of interesting design elements, the tops of the chairs have a gothic lines, with art Nouveau carved design in the top cresting rail.

The Ladies chair has no arm rests (so the lady can sit “side saddle” but instead has 2 small brackets connecting the stile to the apron, which have these fun little Tudor type designs carved in them, both stiles and apron have an early art deco look with 3 lineal lines carved down them, the feet are a traditional Edwardian turned and are fitted with brass and brown ceramic caster wheels.

The Gentleman’s chair is slightly taller than the ladies, and has arm rests, the arm supports continue with the Tudor look of the ladies chair with interesting pillar spindles, and has all the other great design aspects of its counterpart

Height = 113 cm Width = 63 cm Depth = 72 cm

Both chairs have been given a late 1980’s upholstery job, they really want to be redone in a gem tone fabric to keep with the French Second Empire Art Nouveau chic, or a rich lux leather for a more demure Edwardian look.

There may be a makers mark somewhere under the upholstery as well. I do not know.
