Up for auction is an antique map plate of ASIA produced by Collins & Sons in 1887 operating out of both Glasgow and London for their pub of 'All Round the World.. An Illustrated Record'. The intention of this publication was to enable non-travellers, given the cost & limited access to travel of this magnitude of the period, to journey through text and images of 'other-worlds'.

Over size of map is 29cm x 34 cm; and inner image size is 23 cm x 30 cm. Maps of course by necessity are folded in such publications.

Condition is v good for age, wee bit of foxing on outer frame (not inside image) otherwise pretty clean overall. Both back and front shown. Needs a tiny bit of care ..it is old..and a good frame.
