Description
Wooden bookends believed to be from the Art Deco period given their form. Need restoration - removal of existing finish and then refinish. I have too many restoration projects and too little time so leaving this one to someone else.
Wood is solid with no signs of borer. Some minor chips on edges - see last photos. Look larger in photos than in real life. These could be left as they are, sanded down to make less obvious or filled.
Each bookmark is approx 13.5cm long, 13cm tall and 9cm deep.
Buyer can collect from Hokowhitu, Palmerston North or can send.

Any idea what kind of wood these are made of? i*****9 (178 • 6:03 pm, Thu, 16 May )Sorry, I am unsure. As suggested, I suspect these are from the Art Deco period so perhaps '30's or '40s which makes me suspect they may be a native timber but that's just a suspicion. The dark colour varnish or stain that is (barely) on there at the moment isn't giving a lot hints to the grain or wood colour underneath. gec2 (542 • Thursday, 16 May 2024 )
