Description
These items came from the family of Captain Frederick Alan Coward. He served in the Royal West Surrey Regt and then the RFC in WW1, and later when it became the RAF. He qualified as a pilot in Feb 1916 on Biplanes. He was in 9, 2 and 108 Squadrons. He has then joined the Gambia Regt and finally the Queens Royal Regiment. He seems to have seen some service in WW1 with the DCLI and also the Queens Regt.
Included is his title and likely a back patch from the Queens as well as his swagger stick from that Regt. His WW1 RAF wings, two RFC badges, one prong missing from one, the official history of the Queens Regt, a 1925 dated prize medal and a 1924 group photo.
He was entitled to a WW1 pair which the family retained.
It is belived that he lived in the North Island after settling here.
Sold with emailed copies of documents and I have printed his RFC photo.
We are licensed second hand dealers.
