You are bidding on a control column from a DH 100 FB.5 Vampire that is in nice condition. This particular aircraft was a single seat fighter, ex RAF, and shipped to New Zealand with a number of other Vampires in 1953.The RNZAF had around 58 Vampires in both single seat and dual seater configurations. The picture of a FB.5 was mounted as a gate guardian at RNZAF base Ohakea in 1975. The only flying Vampire in New Zealand can be seen regularly at NZ Warbird airshows, several other Vampires are in storage/in museums around the country.
