Up for your consideration is a very early Maori fish-hook point in shell.

With multiple lashing notches to both sides of the shaft, this shell slightly curves to form a sharp point. With a singular outer barb formed along the spine, this early example exudes the most amazing iridescence. Likely to be one of the last, if not the last shell hook I ever list... The old collection is slowly reducing.

This is a sizable example at just under 4.5cm long!
