New Zealand 1901 QV Stamp Duty ‘Counterpart’ 2/6 major brown colour error, as mint HM. This ‘Counterpart’ stamp was supposed to be printed in yellow to differentiate it from the normal issue (but ironically was the very reason why this error occurred – see comparative examples included). This error is rare and seldom seen, and is the only ‘Counterpart’ issue feasibly found unused. Kiwi 2016 CV (as mint) is $600.00. NOTE: this is priced very reasonably considering a similar example in a Mowbray’s auction had a $450.00 estimate.

Condition is generally good, Counterpart error stamp with hinge and piece remnants on reverse. Nice item(s).
