Description
Old metal harness racing table lighter, great display piece but the lighter part will need some attention as it hasn’t gone for years and doesn’t spark when flicked. There is no damage that I can see, as far as I know the harness rope is original and is a type of wire. Has a patent number underneath with a camel logo. The overall length is around 12.5 cm and has been made from some type of metal. I collected table lighters years ago and this is one of the last ones I have left. Please see all the pics.

Hi, any idea what the metal is? Does it have flecks of copper? I cant tell from the pics, thanks. m*******u (129 • 03:07 am, Fri, 12 Apr )Hi, good question, I originally thought it was a type of muck metal with a copper coating but I took the lighter out and just gave it a little sand where you cant see inside the hole where the lighter goes and it looks like brass with a copper plating over it. The copper coating has possibly gone darker over the years. So it looks like the main body horse, rider and buggy are brass under the copper plating. Thanks Jo. dazzaa54 (5082 • Friday, 12 April 2024 )Any idea of age? Thank you m******5 (165 • 01:13 pm, Sun, 21 Apr )HI, if I were having an educated guess I would of thought maybe 1940's possibly into the 50's, the patent number in my pics with the camel logo should help but I can't seem to find anything. Alot of these table lighters were made in Japan from memory but I don't think this one was. I have owned it for at least 40 years and it was old when I got it. Thanks for the question. All the best Jo. dazzaa54 (5082 • Sunday, 21 April 2024 )
