This is a unique Sculpture, made from NZ Macrocarpa and NZ mild steel , inlay with brass. The handle weight is approx 250kg The blade is approx 200kg Hence 450kg is bolted in to 2.5 cubic meters of concrete. The overall length is 4.3M out of the ground. The work was displayed in the 2013/14 Sculpture in the Gardens exhibition held at Auckland Botanic Gardens and was one of of the most photographed in the exhibition. The property in Karaka where it is currently on display is being sold at the end of the year and The Knife needs a new home. inside or out !!
