Description
This Tiki was carved out of a beautiful piece of New Zealand Thuja, - the tree of life. The inlaid eyes are carved from colorful local Pounamu (NZ Greenstone). The sculpture can be hung up on a wall with two hooks under the arms or just displayed leaning against a wall as you can see in the pictures. A stunning and eye-catching piece! There are many believes about the origin and meaning for the Tiki - in Maori mythology he was the first man created. There is a lot more to it and I'd recommend to read up on it and take the meaning that resonates the most for you.
Inquiries for commissioned work in wood or stone of any size are welcome.
