These Archival quality prints are for sale to fundraise for the Us project.

This is an auction for an A4 sized print on 325gsm bright white textured archival paper.

Print is entitled “Morning Light” and is by Us project photographer Megan Bowers Vette.

Proceeds from print sales will support production costs for the exhibition, such as printing and framing, as well as helping Us get to the more remote participants in the project.

What is the Us Project ?

I'm a New Zealand based photographer and rape survivor who is shooting a touring exhibition - "Us" - which will feature the stories and portraits of 50 other survivors of sexual violation. The first show is at the Whangarei Art Museum on 28th August 2017.

The project itself will exist online as well as a touring exhibition and publication, which seeks to highlight the realities of people living with the experience of sexual violation.

My goal was to photograph and record the stories of 50 survivors of all ages, races and genders. Since launching my online video calling for participants there has been an overwhelming outpouring of support. Due to an overwhelming response I now have more than the 50 participants I was requesting, and now have recored over 30 stories.

The participants are from all over the country, with the largest concentration from Whangarei and Auckland. It has been wonderful opportunity to start a national project from my local community that is helping so many, and giving participants a vehicle to claim their power back in their lives.

There has also been a huge media interest in the project, with several documentaries and news articles published so far.

I have been very humbled by both the support from the public, and the incredible braveness and positivity from the participants.
