Hard back with 263 pages and hundreds of black and white photos. Published by Jane’s Publishing Company Ltd, London in 1982. A Vintage Hardback Book from the 1980s, this book is 42 years old.

This vintage book which is a revised edition of the original which was published in 1975 is illustrated throughout. It is in very good condition and unmarked with even the pages being spotless. All of the pages appear to be crease free even on the top and bottom corners. The covers are also in excellent condition with no ruffling to the edges and actually look good for the book’s age.

From the foreword: “The Pocket books’ original purpose was defined at the outset as: ‘easy-to-handle day-to-day working aids for people whose job or delight is to recognise aircraft’, with emphasis on ‘the finest available photographs, reproduced as large and as clearly as possible’. The fact that, in less than ten years, readers have demanded two revised editions…seems pretty clear evidence that this formula was essentially the right one. Now, at last, we are able to satisfy those who have waited patiently since 1975 for a similarly updated edition of Light Aircraft…”

This book covers light aircraft from around the world with all the information one might need to know about them, including their dimensions, engines, weight and performance, etc. Every aircraft included is illustrated with a full page black and white photograph on the page opposite the aircraft details and a smaller photo within the details. An index of the aircraft types is included and is shown in the auction photos.

This is an amazing little book that has lived in the same smoke-free home for all of its life. A must have for any collector of vintage aircraft books.
