George E Rochester wrote some of the Ace series.
Ace series Aviation stories outsold the legendary Biggles, ironically Rochester was also imprisoned in the same POW Camp as W E Johns. The Artist Howard Leigh did the artwork in many of the early Biggles books and was also brother in law to W E Johns.
