1932 WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE 39 VOLUMES MINIATURE 5cm-TALL BOOKS
Rare Set of Antique William Shakespeare Miniature Books
This fabulous collection is a miniature collection of perfectly formed leather bound books complete with marbled book board pages and illustrations.
39 volumes of vintage miniature books of Shakespeare's works, to commemorate the inauguration of the Shakespeare memorial theatre Stratford-on-Avon. What they called the vest pocket edition. Published by Allied Newspapers approx. 1932.
Standing in the original bookcase which is also in good condition. Each book is 52mm tall x 35mm wide and vary in thickness from 12 to 15mm.
Volumes are all still tightly bound; hinges all sound and fully attached. Spine of each volume has been meticulously embossed with the titles of the works contained. Illustrated frontisplate in each.
The books are in excellent condition considering their 91 years.
