Untreated wood shavings from a local wood worker. Each sack is a mixture of different wood.

Wood shavings do not stay wet like hay and do not go mouldy so better for your pet

I have packed the shavings quite tightly into a 25kg chicken feed sack The sack weighs 3.5kg - somewhere around 45 litres

I have been using these for over a year in nesting boxes and also under the perches for my chickens. I layer them a couple of inches thick and replace them every 2 weeks ish.

The 'used' shavings are perfect to go into the compost. Super rich in nitrogen.
