Description
MURAD Q3 CAPSTAN LATHE If you want a lathe for repetitive production work and don’t want to sell your children to purchase a CNC auto-lathe then here is the answer! This Classic English compact machine is a wee treasure suitable for a small machine shop wanting to turn items requiring multiple operations without stopping the lathe. The bar feed system works well and allows the operator to bring another piece of stock through the chuck without stopping the machine. Find out more: http://www.lathes.co.uk/murad/page6.html It has served me well for many years and has been easy to operate. Once set up for a job, it doesn't take a trained machinist to use it. The turret holds up to 6 tools. The cross slide has 2 tool-holders. There is an additional attachment that is lever operated mounted above the chuck, giving a total of 9 operations, should you require it. Motor is 3 phase 2hp/5hp (2 speed motor). Speed range: 350 to 4000 rpm (approx). Belt drive multiple ratios. Forward/reverse – works well for tapping. Foot buttons for fast and slow, and stop. Coolant pump and tank. Numerous collets, chucks, plus additional tooling. Needs a bit of paint to make it presentable.

Hi, Where abouts is the machine located - can I come and look at it? Is a forklift available? Approximate weight? How big a trailer would be necessary for pick-up? Alternately could the machine and feed be palletised, if we organise a freight company? b*******6 (59 • 09:13 am, Mon, 15 Apr )The feed bar support unbolts from machine. I have house-moving rollers - We moved it manually into the workshop behind the house using pipe rollers or the house rollers. There is no vehicle access to the workshop. The machine is only about 1200 long by 600 wide. Guessing the weight is around 250 kg. To lift it onto a trailer would require an engine lifter / portable gantry with chain hoist. Otherwise get machinery movers to do it with a small pallet lifter. db20 (76 • Monday, 15 April 2024 )Happy to send pictures of the access etc - not keen on viewers as have had a couple of shady TradeMe potential buyers for other items so now gun shy :). Seller comment Monday, 15 April 2024 Machinery Movers are calling in to me this week to assess access for getting other machinery moved so you could tie in with this operation. I'm happy to discuss further. Seller comment Monday, 15 April 2024 If you could ask Machinery Movers to offer a quote to palletise and move the lathe to a local PBT depot, I would greatly appreciate it. b*******6 (59 • 10:30 am, Tue, 16 Apr )Will do. db20 (76 • Tuesday, 16 April 2024 )Machinery movers couldn't see me till next week but said they are based in Akl - maybe you could pick up from Matamata, where my other machines are headed? Seller comment Friday, 19 April 2024 I intend on being successful in this auction. Pick up at Matamata would suit us. b*******6 (59 • 02:58 pm, Fri, 19 Apr )No problem! db20 (76 • Friday, 19 April 2024 )Someone is going to get a very good deal considering all the collets and other tooling but I will be pleased if it goes to a good home. :) Seller comment Friday, 19 April 2024
