Retirement of some property promotional extras
On 17 March 2020, we’re retiring the following promotional extras from property listings in the residential for sale and to rent, commercial, retirement villages and rural categories for casual sellers.

Update re: message board changes
As we announced on 12 February, we’re making some changes to our message boards. These were set to go live on 25 February, but due to some complications behind the scenes, this will now happen on 3 March.
Scheduled maintenance
Trade Me will be unavailable on Wednesday, 19 February between 2am and 5am for scheduled maintenance. All auctions that are due to close between 2am and 5:30am will be extended by four hours. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.
Duplicates policy change for sellers
From 1 March, we’ll be making a change to our listing policy for all sellers. This change will mean that sellers may only have one listing per identical item.
Having duplicate listings on our site isn’t a great experience for buyers, as it makes it harder to find what they want. We think this will improve their experience, and hopefully mean more sales for our sellers.
Changes to our message board
From 25 February, we’ll be making a change to our message board, and the following topics and threads will be closed:
• General discussion
• Environment
• Kaikoura recovery
• Genealogy
• Movies & TV
• Music
• New age and spirituality
• Opinion & politics
• Recipes
The message board was originally introduced as a way for members to help each other use the site. Over the years things have moved away from that, and we want to bring it back. More...
