A ‘thank you’ from our charitable partners

Written by Cat in General at 11:30am, Mon 23 Feb 2015

When placing a listing, you have the option to choose to round your success fee to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to Plunket or Kiwis for kiwi, our two success fee partners. We have special relationships with each of these organisations, and fully support and acknowledge their work out in the community.

To say thanks, both Plunket and Kiwis for kiwi have recorded a short video message for you, our members.

Shopping Cart payments

Written by The Trade Me team in General at 4:00pm, Fri 20 Feb 2015

Trade Me’s Shopping Cart, like most online payment services, authorises payments to make sure you have enough credit on your card before you make the full Cart payment.

Depending on which bank you are with, this may mean you see an outstanding authorisation amount on your credit or debit card statement. No money has been taken from your account at this stage. The transaction and payment only takes place once you click ‘Complete purchase’, if there is enough credit on your card.

If you do not complete your Cart purchase, this authorisation amount will automatically expire. This can take up to five days depending on your bank and no action is required on your behalf. More...

New feature: Motorweb Basic Report

Written by The Trade Me Motors team in General and Motors at 2:30pm, Thu 19 Feb 2015

We’re excited today to share a brand new feature for car sellers called a MotorWeb Basic Report.

A MotorWeb Basic Report displays key information about the vehicle you’re selling, including showing that the vehicle isn't stolen, doesn't have money owing, and isn't a damaged import.

Having a safe and trusted marketplace for buying and selling vehicles is hugely important to us, and we reckon this report will help to increase trust between buyers and sellers. Sellers can add a MotorWeb Basic Report for $9 and it will display at the top of their car listing until the vehicle is sold. It can also be added to an existing listing for $9 at any time. More...

Written by The Trade Me team in General at 9:52am, Thu 19 Feb 2015

We’ve just made a change to the way search results are displayed in the Antiques and Collectables, Art, Baby Gear, Crafts, Health & Beauty, Jewellery & Watches, and Pottery & Glass categories.

Starting today, when you’re in these categories you’ll see a new visual page layout when searching and browsing. The appearance of each listing depends on an improved range of promotional products available in the category:

• Basic: Small image in search results.
• Gallery: Medium image in search results (2x larger than Basic) and higher position in the category.
• Feature: Large image in search results (4x larger than Basic) and best position in the category.
• Feature Combo: Highlights listing and includes all benefits of Feature. More...
