Australian motor vehicle statutory write-offs

Written by The Trade Me Team in General at 4:30pm, Wed 11 May 2016

Today we’re announcing that we’re including an addition to our banned and restricted list, and rolling out a new policy for listing Australian imported motor vehicles, which have been statutorily written off in Australia. The new policy is that Motor Vehicle Traders must disclose in the listing body if a motor vehicle was statutorily written off in Australia.

Trade Me is concerned that there are vehicles in the New Zealand fleet that have been through the statutory write-off process in Australia and then on-sold without the buyers being aware of the history of the vehicle.

Find out more about the reasons for this change on our Trust and Safety blog and check out our new Help page on how traders can comply. More...
