The Tp-Link RE200 is a Wi-Fi extender which picks up an existing wireless signal and repeats it in an area, providing a much stronger signal effectively doubling your network coverage. It features an adapter which you will need to place where you want extended coverage in. The RE200 is also dual band so you can retrieve your existing signal using the slower, higher range 2.4Ghz band, and transmit with the faster, more reliable 5GHz band. Your standard Wi-Fi extenders will only run on a single band, so they have to both transmit and receive using a single band which means half the speed transmitted as the other half will be used to receive. You'll enjoy a maximum of 433Mbps using the 5Ghz band and there is even an ethernet port so you can connect a device which requires cabling.
