Description of different types felting needles

• Triangle blade has 3 sides with barbs on all 3 sides
• Star blade has 4 sides with barbs on all 4 sides. The star blade is the needle with the most barbs, which means it will grab more wool with each poke.

*Star Twisted blade: A very new felting needle on the market. it tangles the fiber quicker and deeper.The barbs felts the wool both deeper & closer to the surface. Less puncture holes on the surface

• Twisted (Spiral) blade: The barbs on these needles twist around to the end. This makes them felt quickly & gives a neat finish minimizing the surface holes. They become the favorite needle for felters!

My personal experiences:

• 36 gauge star is my work horse for fast wool grabbing action making shape.
• 38 gauge star & twisted, slightly finer, good for moderately fast, general hardening and deep punctures. Great for joining pieces together

*40 twisted blade The twist gives a smooth effective stab without denting your finished surfaces.

• All our needles are suitable add on a felting tool for fast work (selling separately from our other listing)
