This is an advanced SLR that will appeal to enthusiasts. The camera has had very little use and is in great condition. The shutter count is only 2,350 (the expected life is 100,000). This is a weather sealed camera and the lens is also the weather-resistant variety, which is more expensive than the normal lens.

The K-50 is a 16.4 megapixel DSLR with many advanced features, including Shake Reduction, a 6 FPS shutter, and ISO 516,00. It is compatible with Eye-fi SD cards that allow wireless transfer of images from the camera.

One huge advantage of Pentax DSLRs over others is that they are backward compatible with a large range of old pre-digital Pentax and other third party lenses. Plus this camera has Shake Reduction built-in within the body (sensor shift), therefore inexpensive lenses without built-in shake reduction can be used.
