Released in 1979, the Canon AV-1 is the aperture priority sibling of the Canon A-series, providing aperture priority autoexposure rather than the shutter speed priority autoexposure of the Canon AE-1. Simply select the aperture on the lens based on the lighting of the scene and point, focus and shoot. The viewfinder needle will tell you what shutter speed your lens will use, so you can adjust your aperture if required. Other features include a self-timer, 1/60s mode for flash sync, and a +1.5 stop 'backlight control' exposure compensation button for backlit situations.

APPEARANCE Mostly excellent cosmetic condition, however the bottom plate is a replacement from a silver body and part of the corner is cracked off. I have sanded down the rough edges of the crack so the camera is still comfortable to hold. There is a crack on the right hand side of the top cover near the door hinge. Other light signs of use around the body.

OPTICS Viewfinder has one bit of debris on the split screen area, some slight fungus.

FUNCTIONALITY All functions are working as expected.

LENS Excellent working condition with clear glass, smooth zoom and snappy aperture.
