Description
Beautiful looking Russian 8mm Movie camera from the 1960's.
The "Ekran" model camera was produced by the KOMZ factory primarily known for manufacturing optical products for military and scientific purposes. They made these cameras for civilian use in the 1960's but went back to their core business so this is a rare example.
The camera has cassette loading 10m 1X8mm film. One spring wind ensures a 2-m film run. It has speed adjustments for 16, 24, and 48 f.p.s. It can also take single frame shots. Reverse film rewinding is hand.
The camera has 1:2,8/12,5 mm lens. And parallax view-finder 0,3?.
Measurements are 105X95X43mm and it weighs 600gms.
There is residue of a label that has been stuck on one side that can probably be removed by a restorer. It comes with its original travel case which has some corrosion on the clip and an old taped up tear on the shoulder strap but otherwise in excellent condition as is the camera itself.
You can see a demo of it here: https://youtu.be/Hi3awGOQluk
Even if you don't use it as a camera its just a fantastic object of art and design.
