This is a Bryston SP 1.7 surround sound pre-amp. It is THX Certified and supports multiple digital and analog modes:

DTS 5.1 Dolby Pro Logic 5.1 Stereo analog (CD, Tape, iPod, etc.) Multiple DSP modes such as 5 channel stereo, etc.

It has multiple RCA and XLR outputs. Inputs also for RCA, digital coax, and Toslink optical.

The pre-amp has some light marks from normal use but nothing to affect function.

This preamp has two internal power supplies and signal paths for digital vs. analog inputs for noise isolation. In bypass mode, the DSP is disabled and you get a 100% analog signal path that is extremely quiet. This is perfect for phono amps, CD players, high end DACs, etc. where you want total isolation from digital processing.

The backlit remote is in good condition with no major blemishes.

There is a light mark across the volume knob. The lighting exaggerates the mark but I want to make sure it is disclosed. There are some light marks also around the balance adjustment knob. The faceplate, top, back and sides do not have any other obvious marks to my eye.

I guarantee the unit against DOA and functions as advertised. If there is a functional problem upon inspection you can return in original condition minus shipping costs. This does not cover damages that I determined were caused by the buyer. Bryston has a 20 year warranty. This unit is still under warranty until around 2021-2022.

Recording studios use Bryston gear for a reason. Why not own the same equipment the sound engineers probably used to mix your favorite album or movie?
