Description
For sale is a Swiss-made legend….the one and only Lenco L75
Lenco produced some stunning turntables during their day...but the most revered of all is the L75
This idler-drive model was introduced in 1967 and is the one supercharged all around the world. The famous Jean Nantais chooses the L75 at the heart of his modifications which he charges USD $15,000 for! When “High-End Audio” first tested his Lenco L75, the author stated “This is the finest turntable I have ever heard”, going on to say that the L75 “outperforms every other turntable in my experience, and at any price”
I’m not going to pretend that this version is in the same price bracket...but this one is pretty bloody stunning with its recycled Matai hardwood plinth. It’s in amazing condition and comes with all the original documentation…..and even the original box!!
In profile, the platter looks small….but when removed, it’s absolutely huge, weighing in at a whopping 3kg! Together with the large plinth, this is no light weight
The light tonearm of the L75 is a first-class example of fine mechanical precision, & guarantees clear, undistorted sound reproduction, with the greatest possible protection for your records
The tonearm features anti-skate & is lowered onto the record by a hydraulically damped lowering device, thereby eliminating the possibility of record or needles being damaged whilst putting the tonearm onto the record
The miniature bearings fitted into the tonearm allow for a free sideways movement, and the knife-edge bearing keeps friction to a minimum.
An automatic brake comes into operation when the turntable is switched off
When Hi-Fi studio in Denmark recently re-reviewed the L-75, they said “Mounted in a heavy non-resonant plinth, these Lencos are capable of first-rate performance which some consider to be up with the very best”
It also comes with a Linn cartridge/stylus and the original “dust bug” which screws in beside the platter
You’ll be very lucky to find a better vintage turntable….so get bidding!!
