This was used for a fill in while my friend was having his Aesthetix pre made. It sounded great but he wanted a matched set. It's a magical sounding pre and has the tube output card installed. But if tubes aren't your thing I know we're a solid state card is also. It also has the tone card plus a dac card can be negotiated if required.
