Description
This is a faulty Panasonic EZ-770 projector for sale. When powering up the unit, it receives various error status lights ranging from the power button intermittently flashing red, to the filter, temp, and lamp lights being permanently red. I have managed to get the projector working in very rare occasions and the lamp appeared to be good, but I dont have the time to diagnose and fix the projector anymore.
The low start price indicates its current inoperative state.
Specs as follows:
6.500 lm of brightness in a compact body WUXGA (1.920 x 1.200) High contrast ratio of 5.000:1

This is a high end and expensive projector. Might be good for someone to tinker with but no guarantees that it will work again.

Any reason to assume water damage including high humidity? n*******z (73 • 07:44 pm, Sun, 21 Apr )Before the projector was placed in storage it was working perfectly. It was then stored in a cupboard in my home for 2 years and was inoperable when I retrieved it. I don’t believe there was any water ingress or high humidity. sausten (33 • Sunday, 21 April 2024 )Hi there. Would you ship at my risk/expense if i book a courier? Cheers t*******s (387 • 10:24 pm, Sun, 21 Apr )This is a pretty big projector, dimensions are as follows: 530 x 177 x 445 mm And weights in over 10kg. Shipping wouldn’t be cheap and may make it beyond economical repair. If you want to take the risk then I would be ok shipping it. sausten (33 • Sunday, 21 April 2024 )Am I able to arrange courier from my end, please? n*****n (1893 • 09:29 am, Mon, 22 Apr )This is a pretty big projector, dimensions are as follows: 530 x 177 x 445 mm And weights in over 10kg. Shipping wouldn’t be cheap and may make it beyond economical repair. If you want to take the risk then I would be ok shipping it. sausten (33 • Monday, 22 April 2024 )What work have you done so far Do you suspect the prism block is faulty g*****x (1356 • 09:01 pm, Tue, 23 Apr )I suspect it’s a logic board failure. Faults are intermittent. My plan was to strip the projector, reseat and clean any connectors, and then try again. Life got in the way so I never got round to it. I can sometimes get the projector to start but that’s with a warm start. Which is why I suspect it may be a loose connector or faulty capacitor. sausten (33 • Tuesday, 23 April 2024 )Have you enquired about availability of parts? g*****x (1356 • 10:49 am, Wed, 24 Apr )No, which is why I’m selling this for parts (as per title) sausten (33 • Wednesday, 24 April 2024 )Thanks I'll do some research g*****x (1356 • 10:50 am, Wed, 24 Apr )You can find the “Service Manual” online which will explain how to strip and diagnose the projector. sausten (33 • Wednesday, 24 April 2024 )Thanks for that Panasonic suggest lamp ballast is a good starting point $250 on indent and about an hour to replace g*****x (1356 • 11:09 am, Wed, 24 Apr )Could be a good avenue to investigate. Diagnosis could also be a descent into madness trying to chase the root cause! Which is why I’m flicking it on - for someone else to use this for parts or to have fun fixing it. sausten (33 • Wednesday, 24 April 2024 )
