Do not bid if you don't understand the purpose of HEN CFW. Please do a little research on it if you plan to bid. Do not update the official PS3 firmware as it will break the CFW. Do not sign in with your PSN account unless you are willing to risk an account and/or console ban from Sony

Console was purchased in October 2011 so is fairly old. HDD was replaced with a 500GB SATA drive in 2020 and has barely been used since. Console still runs fine at time of listing

Console is in acceptable condition, bearing a number of marks caused by shelf wear. The disc drive is broken because one of my kids put a cracker in there years ago. Ever since then it makes a grinding noise every time you power on / power off the console. As such, it cannot take discs, but might be fixable by someone with the know how. The console needs an internal clean / dust out.

The controller works fine, all inputs confirmed working. Battery life seems decent. The rubber on the analog sticks is worn off, and the sticks aren't very springy. The charge port is a little loose, and the controller has some minor damage (see pictures).

HEN Hybrid Firmware is installed on the menu, which triggers an exploit that allows you to install & run backup games, emulators for virtually every retro system and various homebrew apps. There are guides on the internet that explain how to install various types of games on a HEN PS3. The console can easily become an emulation powerhouse if you're that way inclined.

I ship within 3 days of auction close, though make every effort to get packages out as soon as is reasonable. Does not include weekends.
