Description
Purchased new for $5000 from Bunnings in August 2020 and has done less than 10 hours since then. Recently checked and it mows at least a 500 to 600 sq m lawn on a charge. Uses 4 lead batteries. Not lithium. Comes with a spare set of blades, battery charger/maintainer, instructions, and tools. Will mulch, with the cover fitted as shown, or side discharge with the chute mounted instead of the cover. No catcher.
Mows well, but struggles with masses of longer kikuyu which unfortunately has infested large parts of my lawn. Also not so good for mowing under lower-hanging fruit trees, so it was replaced by a petrol-powered front-deck mower and has been mostly sitting idle and always connected to the battery charger in a shed.
Mowing height can be set manually from 1.5 to 4.5 inches (about 38 to 115mm). Two blades, each with its own electric motor. Not synchronised, so slightly offset front/back. Separate motor for traction. Has cruise control for moving at a set speed. Manual switch to change travel direction. Reversing stops the blades unless the Reverse Mode Option button has been activated. Gauge for battery level and hours.
Pickup only from rural Papamoa Hills area.

Buy now? d******r (644 • 08:29 pm, Wed, 17 Apr )I took a gamble and listed it with a $1 reserve since I don't have any idea of what it would be worth. Hopefully it will end up over $1000. Thanks for your interest. artig (411 • Wednesday, 17 April 2024 )Hi, ryobi say these should mow up to 2 acres/ 2 hours. If it’s only mowing 5-600m2 it sounds like the batteries are toast. Have you checked the health on the batteries? r*******7 (111 • 07:03 pm, Thu, 18 Apr )I don't have 2 acres to mow, and the batteries were not depleted when the whole lawn had been mowed. As stated they would mow at least that area. I suspect the 2 acres/2 hours is a best case scenario even when new. artig (411 • Thursday, 18 April 2024 )I've checked with Bunnings. Original replacement batteries, LPC12-75 12V 75AH, are $463.73 each, and there are 4 batteries, each weighing more than 22kg. Availability late May. The instruction booklet shows how to replace them. No doubt equivalent batteries are available from other vendors. Videos on YouTube show direct replacement of the lead acid batteries with lithium batteries for lighter weight and longer life but no doubt a higher price. The mower now costs $5799 new. Seller comment Friday, 19 April 2024 The cutting width of the mower is 38 inches/96.5cm. Approximate mower dimensions are 1700mm long, 1000mm wide and 1100mm high. Seller comment Friday, 19 April 2024 How much were the batteries depleted after mowing your 500-600sqm? m*******e (295 • 12:21 pm, Mon, 22 Apr )Unfortunately I forgot to check the level after cleaning it and before connecting it to the charger again. However, sooner or later the batteries will need to be replaced as lead batteries don't live forever especially when their charge is regularly run down as they are in a mower. Deducting the cost of batteries from a new mower would bring it down to around $3900. artig (411 • Monday, 22 April 2024 )I can lift the bidding and pay quickly but wonder how long I have to pick it up? p***********r (276 • 07:32 am, Tue, 23 Apr )There's no hurry with collection. Pick up could be almost any time within the next 6 months or so with one or two day's notice. Sorry, I can't offer to deliver it to Dunedin. :-) artig (411 • Tuesday, 23 April 2024 )Does the mower have a hole for a trailer on the back? l****5 (0 • 07:45 pm, Wed, 24 Apr )Yes, there's a plate with two holes. One for a trailer and a smaller one presumably for a safety chain. Referred to in the instruction booklet as an approved hitch point. artig (411 • Wednesday, 24 April 2024 )
