This a beautiful Victorian crescent brooch in 15ct gold, very clean and tidy.

Rubies? The buyer needs to make up their own minds up on this I suggest you google Victorian ruby crescent brooches and you will find that the stones are near identical in most cases, a reddish purple colour. (Garnets are usually a deeper darker red like red wine!)

Provenance: The brooch came out of a large estate collection that had some serious jewellery within the collection. The collection was sold in an antique auction last year. 15ct is an old British assay hallmark that was widely used in the 19th century.
