Description
I’ve had this listed a few times with lots of watchers but no bids…so it’s time to bite the bullet and list at $1 reserve…happy bidding everyone!
This is a beautiful 55 year-old high-beat King Seiko.
The case is 37mm excluding crown and has had no refinishing. The dial is beautiful, almost pearl-like and hard to show in the photos. It’s not perfect though - the minute markers are gone in places and magnification shows some imperfections, however to the naked eye it really is nice. It has a signed KS crown, and the KS gold medallion caseback is ok, though somewhat worn.
I have overhauled the movement and it is now running nicely. I’m only a hobbyist but I’m now happy with this watch’s reliability for daily wear use. Over testing, it has been losing 15s/day. I’ll keep adjusting it - it has a micro-adjuster hidden under a screw underneath the lower lugs. Timegrapher readings are very solid.
King Seiko were Seiko’s internal competition with Grand Seiko back in the 60’s and 70’s. If you don’t know the story, do some googling and you’ll find out about the quality of this piece.
Will be delivered in the protective case shown in the last photo.
