Pay range: $29.66 - $35.00/Hour
Days: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm
Hours: Guaranteed 40 hours/week

The Company:

The company is a vertically integrated grower and marketer bringing together three of New Zealand's biggest avocado growers. Collectively growing on 1000 ha of land, using high level orchard infrastructure, leading orchard management practices and techniques, together creating multiple business efficiencies.

The Role:

As a member of the orchard team, you are responsible for efficiently completing operational tasks, to ensure the optimal growth and maintenance of trees. This will involve spraying for pests and disease, irrigation maintenance, weed control, and plant maintenance.

• Operate tractor and implements.
• Mowing and weed control duties.
• Crop spraying and pest & disease control duties.
• Complete orchard work across entire site.
• Ensure that the Orchard Supervisor is fully informed on any issues relating to the orchards.
• Perform all tasks and duties in a safe and efficient manner and carry out work in a harmonious manner with due respect for team members and other company personnel.
• Complete work in compliance with health & safety, environmental, MPI and consent requirements.
• Perform other duties as directed.

About You:

• At least 1 year orchard / horticultural / agricultural experience: spraying; irrigation; mowing etc.
• Able to operate orchard equipment such as tractors, sprayers, mowers, etc.
• Formal Horticultural qualifications is an advantage.
• Knowledge of agricultural practices and techniques, particularly in orchard management.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to machinery operation.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons as needed.
