We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer Fitter for a large FMCG factory, to focus on the maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment and facilities, maintaining the factory and everything in it. The business is a very well established and stable operation.This is a Day Shift role and a 40-hour week. Monday to Friday. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Candidates are required to have some of their own tools. The candidate in this position is assured of upward progression on good performance.You will be a part of a large Engineering team. The factory runs a two shift operation. Three weeks in a month are on the Day Shift, on week per month will be on the Afternoon Shift. Alternate Saturday is half day working until 12 noon.?Duties and Responsibilities:?Maintaining PLC controlled and fully automatic high speed machinery,??Providing engineering support by ensuring that all production and service equipment meets operational and production requirements, provide support during breakdowns, and rectify issues in a timely manner, and be willing to operate the line when the need arises.?Ensuring that periodic and preventive maintenance are appropriately scheduled and accomplished and that troubleshooting and maintenance support are readily available as needed.?Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores and training given?Work closely with the Maintenance Team and internal departments in finding ways to improve process and increase machine reliability and performance.Required skills, experience and/or qualifications:?Mechanical engineering apprenticeship / industry recognised qualifications?Experience in mechanical maintenance in an FMCG environment.?Basic Welding skills.?Knowledge of plant operation principles, methods and processes?Ability to handle day-to-day maintenance issues around operational requirements and the management of a manufacturing facility.?Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem solving abilityThe role promises excellent career growth prospects to performers. ?Interested applicants may please contact Anu Lopes in complete confidence on DDI +64 9 3205725 or click Apply for this job.
