Rees Engineering specializes in the manufacture of Pipework and fittings for water reticulation, water treatment, sewage/waste water plants and reservoir pipework. Our staff are qualified to both 9606.1 & ASME B31.4 and work with Bare Shell Pipe, CLS Pipe and Stainless Pipe.

We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Whanganui.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing & directing operations of the Company i.e. planning, materials, equipment, training, and human resources.
• Manage all staff and work schedules, arranging and co-ordinating specific duties.
• Direct and co-ordinate activities of the business with production and distribution.
• Manage purchase, stock and subcontract/outwork and relationships.
• Implement and manage H&S Policies set out by the employer and as per the manual.
• Assist sales with Labour/hours and costs for all work activities.
• Assist management with review of jobs and profitability to meet the companies' objectives.
• Assist management to formulate company direction and strategies by offering market and production intelligence.
• Manage and plan all machinery & plant maintenance.
• Manage quality to meet or exceed our clients' requirements.

About you:

• Proven experience in a similar Operations Management role within the Engineering industry
• Good understanding of health and safety
• Good understanding of machining - lathe work and milling, maintenance and preventative maintenance for the industry
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Hold a full drivers licence
