Mo te tunga | About the role

In this role as Advanced Support Worker, you will be based in the community mentoring and guiding our junior support workers to ensure they are providing the highest level of cares.

Your day will be varied and could include: conducting individual competency assessments moving and handling training/coaching, medication management and infection control learning while also using your encouraging and passionate attitude to build positive relationships with our tangata | people, their whanau and other stakeholders.

You will be expected to participate in appropriate training and work as a service delivery senior in areas of specialisation and provide development and encouragement to other support workers.
This role does involves travelling the region in a company provided car. Based on your location you will be expected to travel around the Bay of Plenty Waikato region.
Flexible working arrangements are an option, as the mahi allows.

Nga pumanawatanga ou | What you will bring?
We are looking for people with the following:
  • Level 3 or 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate
  • Extensive experience in the healthcare and caregiving workforce including working with tangata | people with complex needs, such as spinal injuries, catheter care,
brain injury, and dementia
  • A full, clean New Zealand drivers' licence
  • Good general computer and technology skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • A commitment to a culturally responsive approach (including a good understanding
of Tikanga Maori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi)
