About the Role:

Currently offering a unique and exciting opportunity in a Dunedin Central clinic for a Clinical Psychologist. The successful candidate will become a valued member of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with physiotherapists, pain specialists, orthopedic specialists, GPs, occupational therapists, and administrators.

The role involves working on various contracts, including concussion, pain management, psychology services, training for independence, and the escalated care pathway. As the Senior Psychologist, you will engage with a diverse range of clients, addressing issues such as persistent pain, adjustment to physical injury, anxiety, low mood, trauma, and relationship difficulties.


Key Tasks:

  • Triaging referrals
  • Acting as a team leader for psychologists
  • Mentoring and training
  • Conducting thorough assessments with sound clinical reasoning
  • Providing evidence-based psychological input
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensuring timely completion of clinical reports and referrer letters


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Three years of experience in Clinical Psychology
  • Bachelor's qualification in Psychology
  • Full registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board as a Clinical Psychologist
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate, Professional Body Membership, and Indemnity Insurance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassion, respect for diversity, and strong ethical values
  • Highly organised with efficient time-management skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
