B & M Joinery Cromwell is currently a team of 8 (9 if you count our dog Oakley!) with a combined experience of more than 70 years in the industry.

We're excited to offer an excellent chance for a Sales & Design Consultant to become part of our team in Cromwell, Central Otago. This is a full-time maternity cover position, with the potential for the role to transition into a permanent contract.

Candidates should possess at least 2 years' previous experience in a similar Design role, preferably with specific knowledge in joinery. While sales experience is advantageous, we also offer training for suitable applicants.

Main tasks include:
  • Provide excellent customer service while selling products to meet client needs
  • Produce, read, and interpret quotes in a timely manner, as well as following up on issued quotations
  • Design concept plans for quotations
  • Complete assigned tasks on time and to company standards
  • Inspect products for quality
  • Qualify potential clients and adjust sales content accordingly
  • Stay updated on competition and market trends, and continuously update professional knowledge
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety protocols
  • Other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested

Other key skills and attributes include:
  • Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
  • Attention to detail: excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally.
  • Commerciality: ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner.
  • Teamwork: willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members.
  • Time management/organisation: accomplish objectives effectively within time frame given, and carry out administrative duties within portfolio in an efficient and timely manner.
  • A full, clean driver's licence
