About the opportunity:
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter to work at our manufacturing site in Nelson. As an integral member of the maintenance team, the Maintenance Fitter will make a strong contribution to a high performing Operations team and team culture within our site.
You will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance, to achieve acceptable production levels and a high standard in engineering support.
Hours will vary to meet production needs and will involve some on call requirements. The right candidate, in return, will enjoy flexibility to work around their lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative maintenance to plant and equipment within the facility
- Carry out service and repair of Mechanical plant and equipment within the facility, Prioritize all types of given work
- Diagnose faults and carry out modifications to equipment
- Participate in all training as required by the company
- Effective reporting of any issues relating to company SHE QA policies
- Point of contact when attending a breakdown
About you:
We are looking for a qualified maintenance fitter who has had exposure to both reactive and preventative industrial machinery maintenance and repairs. A can do attitude and ability to think on your feet is a must.
Experience and qualifications we would like to see include:
- Trade certification with applicable trade such as fitter/welder or fitter/machinist
- Experience with pneumatics is beneficial
- Health, Safety and Environment knowledge, including machinery guarding
- A strong growth mindset with an eagerness to learn new skills
