**About the Opportunity**
We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for an experienced Class 5 driver to join our Westport Team in the role of sludge truck driver.
This is a permanent role based at our Hokitika yard where you will be working within our Bulk team. You will find yourself carting a variety of products primarily within the South Island
The roster will have you working Monday – Friday dayshift, with some weekend work will be required. Some flexibility is required to suit business and seasonal needs. The successful candidate will be required to stay away from home at times.
Skills and experience

• At least 1-2 years’ experience in a Class 5 driving role.
• A strong geographical knowledge of the Westcoast area.
• Experience going above and beyond for customers – we would love to hear more on this!
• Experience working with a team – what’s been your favourite team to work with so far?
• The ability to pick up new technology – tell us about a time you had to learn something new!
• Experience transporting live loads is preferable, but not essential as training will be given

**Duties**
Day-to-day tasks:

• Perform tasks in such a way as to promote and maintain a good company image – you are the face of Hilton Haulage!
• Comply with all health & safety related rules, policies, procedures and directions given by the Employer and/or customer – Health & Safety inductions are required for all customer sites.
• Participate as a member of the driving team, completing all work as assigned and assisting other drivers as required – attending Toolbox meetings, pre-start inspection checks, and ensuring your vehicle is maintained to a high standard.
• Work carefully and drive defensively to ensure your own safety, and the safety of others. Drive in a manner that actively considers factors such as weight limits, hazardous materials regulations, weather and traffic conditions.
