Hire Direct Equipment Rental has a Transporter Driver role available, based in Kamo, Whangarei.

Local family-owned company offering premium earthmoving equipment for rental.

Photos show types of equipment you'll be responsible to transport to & from site, as well as a range of machines we shift for our customers as part of our service.

We have a great team of drivers & are looking to add another professional operator to our staff.

We are looking for a responsible, efficient team player, preferably with experience with heavy haulage & operating earthmoving/similar equipment.

Trucks you'll be required to drive will be 8x4 or 10x4 Transporter (Freightliner), shifting machines anywhere from 1-18 Tonne (this may change in time depending on capabilities/transport workloads & demand).

Core tasks:

• Transport rental & other equipment to & from site safely, efficiently & professionally.
• Record-keeping - recording on phone/tablet details of shifts/jobs to be completed.
• Liaise with customers on site regarding drop-off/pickup.
• Maintain a tidy truck - well-presented & cleaned regularly, report any issues/faults, grease/maintain where capable.
• Communicate with office & yard staff to carry out/prioritise equipment shifts & operations.
• May involve forklift work - loading machines & attachments/extras on/off transporter at yard.
• Assist with preparing machines for hire if necessary to meet deadlines/if transporting workload allows.

• Reliability - honest, turn up undistracted for work 5 days a week.

Remuneration rate will be based on ability/fit for the role, prepared to pay top rates for the right person in this role.

Heavy transport/trucking experience a must.

Minimum of Class 4 License essential & Fork Lift License a plus, can be obtained if not held.

Standard hours will be at 6.30am-5pm, however this job can sometimes require work outside of these hours.
Also we cannot guarantee these hours in full every week due to the varying workload of transport, can be discussed further upon application.
