Mercury 40HP 4 stroke 2005

She's a goodie! Come for a day of fishing with me so I can prove it!

This motor is on my FREWZA F14 Fisher at the moment and is being used regularly. The reason I am selling is because I am going to upgrade to a 60HP at the boat show in Auckland in May.

It came off a fresh water ski boat from Rotorua in December 2015 and has been on my boat for about a year and a half. She has been flushed religiously after EVERY use!

She goes really well and is super economical. The hours gauge has condensation in it so I can't see the motor's hours (apologies) but when I had the engine serviced by Marine West in Henderson last year they gave the engine a thorough inspection and said that it's solid as.

I'm happy to either take my boat to a reputable engineer in Auckland to have them remove it or to have the buyer come to my house and I'll help them remove it...whatever suits you. You will need to bring an engine hoist.

I serviced it about a year ago so it's probably due for another service soon.

Impeller works well with good cooling water flow.

I've never had any problems with it...I just want to go faster! 8-p

Note. This motor comes with a standard Mercury aluminium prop. I have been running a 'Mercury Elite Series Trophy Sport' stainless prop (see it in the picture and also here: https://www.mercurymarine.com/en-gb/nz/propellers/elite-series/trophy-sport/ )on it which does NOT come included in this sale. I found that the upgraded prop increased my top speed from 23 to 28 knots, got me up onto the plane faster but (most importantly) gave me a much better fuel economy. If the 'Buy it now' price is achieved then the winning buyer can have the 'as new' stainless prop for $270 with the box - it cost me over $600.
