Description

1973 Sprite Caravan. Previously used as an extra room at the bach. It has just had a brand new drawbar fitted along with any other rusty parts of the chassis cut out and replaced with new steel. The whole chassis has been painted in rust proof enamel paint. Wheel bearings have been removed, cleaned and repacked with grease. Brand new tires, jockey wheel, hitch and safety chain. No broken windows, no rego, no wof or E wof. Has had a leak around sunroof that has caused damage (see pictures) but it's had a canvas cover professionally made and fitted to the roof. We have not tested the 240volts. There are no tail lights but as it sits it tows well. Located in Waihi. It's been painted with house paint. Payment strictly within 48hours hours of auction closing. Questions & Answers

  • Why the roof cover thing? Is it not watertight? w********r (389)07:07 pm, Thu, 18 Apr As per auction description, it has a leak around the sunroof. The cover was made to stop the leak. monstermetals (1072) • Thursday, 18 April 2024
  • Sorry I should have expanded the question. Is it just the sunroof that's leaking? Seems excessive to make a cover rather than fix the leak if its from a single point w********r (389)07:09 pm, Thu, 18 Apr I'm unsure if it's just the sunroof, but by looking at the inside of the caravan, the damage only appears to be around the sunroof area. Thank you. monstermetals (1072) • Thursday, 18 April 2024
  • cover looks like a great idea for any camper parked up to prevent leaks.. i***********g (39)09:47 pm, Thu, 18 Apr I think it's a great idea for any caravan as well. If someone buys this to restore, it will be a great cover to use during the resto and again after it's finished. monstermetals (1072) • Thursday, 18 April 2024
  • We're is pickup pl b******a (124)08:42 am, Fri, 19 Apr Not to sound rude, but location is written in the auction. Please read the whole auction description so you know the issues etc that are associated with this caravan. Thank you. monstermetals (1072) • Friday, 19 April 2024
  • What would you expect it would need to pass a wof? Would it tow to Paeroa ok? m*********s (247)05:28 pm, Tue, 23 Apr To get a wof, it would need at least the tail lights to operate. It does not need front marker lights for a wof, and neither will it need brakes for a wof. It's had quite a bit of work done to the chassis, so I don't see any issues there. The bearings have been removed, cleaned, and repacked with grease. After this, they were slightly noisy, so may or may not pass a wof. Wheel bearings are cheap as to replace, though. Absolutely can be towed to Paeroa. monstermetals (1072) • Tuesday, 23 April 2024
