Honda CX500 Turbo 1981
$6,000
Description
Your chance to own a priceless piece of 1980’s art.
When it was introduced in 1981, it was the most futuristic and technologically advanced motorcycle available.
You remember 1981….the days when “CHiPs” was the TV show of choice and Jon and Ponch wouldn’t have stood a chance of catching you on this bike!
It was the first production Honda with a programmed fuel injection system and a turbocharger that nearly doubled the power output of the tried and tested, bomb-proof, liquid-cooled, V-Twin engine.
And the design…ohhh the design! Not simply cutting edge, just plain sexy. With integrated blinkers, a beautifully formed body, a seat that wraps into the tank and gold wheels. It’s not just another motorcycle, it’s a gentleman’s motorcycle.
It’s a cruising bike that will leave you grinning for days. Take it out on NZ's beautiful open roads and it’s in its element. Crack open the throttle and feel the turbo lift the bike up and send it flying on its way.
And reliability…what more could you ask for. Just keep the battery charged and it will start first push of the button. Let it warm up a little and you’re away.
I consider myself very fortunate to be selling this amazing motorcycle on behalf of my friend Alan. Alan has no space for continued storage, so it’s time to pass it on to another who appreciate its uniqueness and style. And the uniqueness of this motorcycle is not something to be overlooked. To Alan’s knowledge only 30 of these motorcycles were imported to New Zealand from a total production of 1000.
These motorcycles can only increase in value due to their rarity.
In case you’re wondering, Alan has provided me with signed authority to sell on his behalf and wishes me to make clear that while it may be stylish and unique, it’s most definitely not new and as such is being sold in As Is Where Is condition with no warranty expressed or implied.
That being said, the motorcycle has a brand new WOF and the rego is on hold.
What price do you put on such a rare and artistic masterpiece?
