Go Kart project.

The scooter engine is stuffed, seized, dead and departed to the great wrecking yard in the sky.

The rest of it is alive and ready for a new engine transplant.

MAJOR UPDATE:

1. I've modified the front wheel setup to add some castor, positive camber and reduced scrub radius, so the steering self centres and is more stable.
2. Opened up the roll-over frame so a wider age range of kids will fit inside
3. Installing a sliding pedal set that can move towards the seat by a total of 200mm in 40mm increments. The angled slide rail reduces the pedal height as it slides backwards, to suit the smaller feet of younger kids.
4. Inclined the rear firewall and seat backwards.
5. Moveed the pedal set forwards. There is now 730mm between pedals and the rear of the seat.
6. Discovered a couple of minor faults: The front wheelbearings need replacing (only a few dollars each from the right supplier), and the shaft key that locks the left rear wheel to the drive shaft is missing.

Wheelbase is 1270mm and 810mm wide across back tyres.

All it needs now is the engine transplant and brake cable & throttle cable linked to the pedal set. Good opportunity for a young kid to learn how to swing on tools and get creative.

I was going to do it up up for the neighbours children, but I have too many Big Boys Projects on the go. (Although I've ended up doing most of the doing up in the past couple of days)
