Today, the brand is inactive with no new Daimler's produced in well over a decade. However, Daimler has not been officially retired and there are always rumours of a revival.
Produced as upscale cars for the British aristocracy, Daimler initially forged a reputation for luxury, high-class vehicles - putting it in competition with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce.
Due to the upmarket focus of the brand, Daimler's are relatively rare finds these days - especially in New Zealand, given it's so far away from their ancestral home. Nonetheless, anyone interested in buying a second-hand Daimler will find a small selection of options, usually starting from several thousand dollars.
