I've built several of these over the last few years -- the water pump fails in these , and the thermostat housing is plastic and they fail too , as does the power steer . I suspect the water must have been low for it to overheat but I’m just guessing really ben.turner (426 • Tuesday, 2 April 2024In answer to jkp -- these Minis have an electric water pump ( and same with power steer , although if that stops it doesn't affect the engine ) ; they also have a plastic thermostat housing . If either or both those fail , you'll overheat pretty quickly . Reminds me too -- we have sourced metal thermosat covers -- better list these on TM .
