Cello Tailpiece Adjusters (Hangers) are used to connect to the tailpiece of your Cello and adjust the tension and position of the tailpiece.

The small cord that attaches your tailpiece to the button on your Cello is an often overlooked item. Both the material that the hanger is made of and the position on the Cello can help to provide a clearer tone and help your Cello be more responsive to the bow.

Traditionally tailpiece hangers were made of gut which gave rise to the phrase Tailgut but the evolution of Cello tailpiece cords in the 1950's meant that companies like Sacconni found that using Nylon and threading this to provide adjustability, provided not only a more durable product but improved sound. Because of the numerous disadvantages gut and wire means these tail piece hangers have virtually died a natural death (excuse the pun).

Our tailpiece adjusters are made using threaded Nylon to allow adjustment of tension and provide the softness and flexibility desired.

These adjusters are suitable for use on

• 7/8 size and 4/4 size Cellos and many 3/4 size Cellos

They are 330mm total length with 50mm threaded adjustment at each end.
